This week, All My Children and One Life To Live made their debuts on the Online Network. AMC and OLTL are no longer being aired directly on the television - now they air on the Internet. (The current exception is in Canada, the shows air on the cable channel FX)
Users with a computer with Internet access can watch All My Children/One Life To Live on Hulu.com for FREE. As long as you watch on a PC, there is NO CHARGE for Hulu.com.
Some users prefer the luxury of being able to watch Hulu Plus on other devices such as on a tablet, or on their smart phone, or by using a device like Roku, stream it from the Internet directly to their TV. The FREE version of Hulu does not stream to these devices so viewers have to pay the $7.99 a month for Hulu PLUS if they want to watch on a device other than their PC.
If you're a die hard fan, or you prefer the option to download and save episodes, you can purchase them from iTunes for 99 cents each or you can buy a package good for 20 shows for $10.
Viewers now have choices they never had when All My Children aired on network TV.
Viewers can now watch whenever they want. These shows are no longer considered daytime TV, but now they are ANYTIME TV.
Shows will be available for 10 days on FREE Hulu.com
Shows will be available indefinately on the paid Hulu Plus service.
I am uncertain how long shows will be available for download from iTunes.
I personally am loving the freedom afforded from the shows being available online.
